Running

Have you ever watched a toddler run in defiance when called to take a bath, change a diaper, or anything else they found objectionable? It is often quite humorous, even when it is frustrating. It is amazing that we learn to run from things we don’t want to do at such a young age.

I don’t know if God finds it funny when we run from what He wants for us or not, but to be honest I know some stories that would make you chuckle. We need what God calls us to as much as that baby needs a bath, a diaper change, or to eat. However, that defiant gene inside us kicks in hard sometimes and we just run.

I love that God is patient with us and lovingly comes after us to bring us back to what we need. My prayer is that we the church will be receptive to His calling and not keep running in defiance. The world needs us and God is trying to use us, so stop running away and let Him bless others through His call onto our lives.
