Choosing Our Battles

Every day we get to choose what our battles will be. If we are smart, we choose not to fight against the laws of gravity, or the power of love, or the laws of financial accountability. We find ourselves surrendering to these and other irrefutable laws because to do so makes perfect sense and life is better when we do. The same is actually true of our surrender to God. We have the awful human habit of fighting for our way. When we do, we find conflict and we lack peace. However, when we choose to give up and let God be God, we find joy and life, and honestly a much easier path.
