Happy August!
Happy August, Church! If you did not already know, August is one of the most strategic times in the life of a church. It is really like our New Year, in that everything starts as far as our programming and outreach. School is back, so routines are back, Bible studies kick off, new ministries find their birthplace in the fall, and we move toward the season of Advent with great purpose. All that being the case, I want to encourage all of us to be diligent this fall in our prayers and in our presence. If we use this season as a positive springboard and commit ourselves to the work of the Kingdom all together, I believe that we can accomplish great things for God. I am excited about all that God is doing and where He is leading. Our part is to follow and obey and, as I often say, try and stay out of His way! The rhyming of that sentence is purely accidental! Let's go, Faith! In Him, Pastor Scott |

2026 North Georgia GMC Youth RallySaturday, August 8 This gathering will unite students from across our conference for an afternoon of worship, encouragement, fellowship, and spiritual renewal. There is something powerful about young people coming together as one body in Christ—lifting up the name of Jesus, hearing God's Word, and being reminded that they are not alone in their faith. We believe this event will be a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with one another and be challenged to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Location: Church on the Hill, 4600 Nelson Brogdon Blvd., Sugar Hill, GA 30518. Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026. Time: 1:00 PM–5:00 PM. Cost: Free. Depression Support GroupEvery Thursday at 6:00 PM This support group is a welcoming and safe space for anyone who would like to attend—guests and drop-ins are always welcome. There is no cost, and it is open to the public. While the Depression Support Group is hosted at our church, it is primarily secular in nature. This simply means the focus is on providing a supportive, encouraging environment for one another, though faith and personal beliefs are always welcome to be shared. Please note, this is not group therapy, but a place to connect, be heard, and walk alongside others. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Eddie Cabaniss at platyfurmany@gmail.com.
