Happy July, Church!

I was walking through Costco the other day and staring in awe at the abundance of food items before me. If you have been there, then you understand the phrase, “from floor to ceiling”! It hit me somewhat hard just how blessed and privileged we are to live in a country where this is our reality. I continued that thought and reflected on how far that food would have gone in Venezuela or Nigeria. Sometimes I think that we are so used to our blessings that we fail to give thanks and understand just how much God has gifted us.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July and continue to enjoy vacations and time off from work and school, I hope that you will join me in taking time to reflect on our blessings and give thanks to God during your personal worship time.

I thank God regularly for the amazing group of people with whom I get to do Kingdom life. Story after story continues to flow through my office about how God is working in our midst. I thank God for every one of you and for the faithfulness that radiates from Faith Methodist Church. I am so excited about all that He has in store ahead. Please join me in a month of gratitude for our country, our church, and one another.

Wednesdays at Faith is our weekly Bible study for all— a welcoming space to grow deeper in God’s Word together. Each week, we gather for Scripture-centered teaching, meaningful discussion, and prayer as we seek to know Christ more and live out our faith in everyday life. This summer, we’re grateful to partner with Cartersville City Schools to help serve families in our community through the Summer Lunch Program. Families are welcome to bring children ages 18 and younger to enjoy a free takeaway lunch Monday–Friday, June 1 through July 17, from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM. We look forward to welcoming and serving you this summer!

Rising 6th-12th graders are invited to join us at Norman and Leigh Layton's house for a fishing day! Bring your bait, fishing pole and your patience! Rising Kindergarten through 5th graders are welcome to join us for our next Faith Kids Summer Adventure: Movie Day! We will be showing the movie “David” on our jumbo movie screen. What’s better than a simple game of kickball? Waterslide Kickball! Students in 6th–12th grade are welcome to invite their friends and join us for a friendly game of kickball with a twist! Get ready for our final Faith Kids Summer Adventure: Secret Splash! This surprise-filled water day will be packed with fun, laughter, and plenty of soaking-wet moments! Rising Kindergarten through 5th graders will enjoy exciting water games, unexpected twists, and lots of opportunities to cool off and play together. You won’t know what’s coming… but you’ll definitely want to bring a towel and a change of clothes! This support group is a welcoming and safe space for anyone who would like to attend—guests and drop-ins are always welcome. There is no cost, and it is open to the public.

While the Depression Support Group is hosted at our church, it is primarily secular in nature. This simply means the focus is on providing a supportive, encouraging environment for one another, though faith and personal beliefs are always welcome to be shared. Please note, this is not group therapy, but a place to connect, be heard, and walk alongside others.

Faith Methodist Church is honored to offer the Manna Pantry, a community outreach ministry committed to providing food assistance and encouragement to individuals and families in need throughout Bartow County. Those in need may receive food once per calendar month by presenting proof of residency within Bartow County. No pre-registration is required. Simply arrive during pantry hours, and our dedicated team will guide you through the process with care and respect. Together, we strive to serve our community with dignity, compassion, and hope.
